Step right up!

Country Circus!! I didn't know about the country circus but apparently, much like touring seasonal carnivals (with which I am familiar,) there are circuses that run the circuit, throwing up the big tent in each little town for one day of festive showmanship. We caught the The Kelly Miller Circus, now run by a great nephew of the original Ringling Brothers, in Richfield Springs. It was quite a show, with many of the performers participating in multiple acts and even selling souvenirs in between. See the photos below for your own virtual circus extravaganza!!

Those eyes! You didn't say they were robot tigers!

OK, OK, I'm getting my wallet out now, nice and easy...

Aw, they're really just little kitties.

Mmm! She-Hulk hungry for cotton candy!

Mexican master juggler makes strong immigration argument.

He actually stopped time for this pic.

Yes, he's juggling two balls with his mouth.

It's pretty amazing what he can do with those balls.

The all new Mexican hat dance.

Hats!!

Clown violence...still hilarious.

This family starts with the horseback standing act.

Then a volunteer from the audience tries and struggles.

Oh no! Looks like trouble! And...

Underpants!! The kids go wild!!

This balancing act starts impressively enough.

Then it gets crazy!

Then just plain stupid!

Close-up of stupid.

Next up! A lady with dogs!

Damn, another stuck dog! I really need to invest in bigger hoops.

Now, for a dog leaping a hurdle!

This one stands like people.

Aw!

Spinning ladies!

Arty shot of spinning lady.

During intermission, this elephant has an eye for...

Marshmallows!!

Watch those fingers.

Note this elephants lunging position to reach something sweet.

The horse family is back, now on the flying trapeze!

That was close!

The ole switcheroo!

The juggler returns with the old, you throw a potato at me and I'll catch it with a fork trick.

¡Ay, caramba! El potato me rompe en la cabeza!!

Talent!

Ambition!

Lunacy!

Action shot!

That's gotta hurt!

Clowns can't fix plumbing!

See!

Elephants!! Rise!!

Fancy pose!

The world's smallest elephant!

Duped! It was just a wee little dog.

Naturally, the show was ultimately dedicated to the American Cowboy, which probably makes a lot more sense closer to the circus's home in Oklahoma than it does in upstate New York.
